#159 - Mongol 1: The Blood Clot
The History of China
00:00
The Henti Mountains of North Central Asia
Mongolia is no flat expanse, in spite of the term step. North Central Asia is a rolling series of hills, bluffs, cliffs, and mountains punctuated by the occasional stream, river, pond, bog or glacial formed lake. The Henti Range is thought in particular to have been formed as a part of the Angarans shield more than 1.5 billion years ago. This is a land of market extremes, where humans and their animals face constant challenges from the weather. Even in May, a horse may sink into snowbanks so deep that it could barely keep its head up.
