The Sufi Tradition Is Not History

I mean, you are giving the received account of Muhammad's life that is the traditional Muslim understanding of the faith. You're more than welcome to refute it. And you should bring the rigor of the modern historical methodology to it and make your argument. I respect that historical criticism. But at the end of the day, academic history is relatively modern innovation.
