The Democracy Extinction Burst of Behavior
In experimental psychology classes, you get a thirsty animal in a cage and they figure out the dipper. And it's rewarding, because then they're not thirsty any more. So the democrats just continued to behaviour. An extinction burst of behavior, even though we know it does nothing. Why do you do it? Because we're all living creatures that obey some of the same iron laws of psychology.
