The Darkness of the Meadhall
Rothgar's great-great grandfather was a foundling, and he rose to create this kingdom. The successive kings of Rothgar's line carved out more and more of the wilderness. Till Rothgar became the most powerful of all, ruler of vast armies,. He would not be stopped now by some demon from the darkness. That evening, serious and sober-ish, the warriors were ready for the monster. It came well after midnight from the moonless darkness. Yells and battle cries were replaced by screams and more sickening cracks. Almost as quickly as it entered, the creature was gone.
