The Importance of Invisibility in the Development of Climate Change
Carbon credits are basically sort of the latest tropical commodity miracle crop for export. I mean, since the last 500 or so years. So increasingly indigenous people who've been really on the forefront of opposition to a lot of these projects are also being mobilized to advocate for carbon offsetting. It's creating tremendous divisions among indigenous peoples around the world. Now, what really needs to happen is that the land rights and resource rights and territorial rights of indigenous people need to be respected.
