Ben Gunn's Coracle

Ben Gunn's boat was homemade if ever anything was homemade. It had a rude, lopsided framework of tough wood and stretched upon that a covering of goat-kins with the hair and size. The thing was extremely small, even for me, and I could hardly imagine that it would have floated with a full-sized man. There was one thought that as low as possible, a kind of stretcher in the bowse, and a double paddle for propulsion. This was to slip out under cover of night, cut the hissennial a drift, and let her go ashore where she fancied.
