A two stage replacement arthroplasty is indicated as the gold standard for an infected joint upgraded in four weeks. Early reimplantation within two weeks has a 35% success rate. Cementless reimplantation in the hip has better outcomes than cemented reimplantation. Disadvantages of resection arthropl surgery is a short limb, poor function, and patient dissatisfaction.
