The History of Diabetes as a Jewish Disease

In the first half of the 20th century, diabetes was also considered to be a disease of civilization. So there were all these negative stereotypes associated with it. But at the same time, Jews were considered to be white and of civilized people. The simplest explanation would just be that it was in developed populations that people ended up living long enough to develop diseases of civilization.
