The Orion Hit Nearly 5,000 Degrees Fahrenheit
On December 11th, which is literally 50 years to the day of the last landing on the moon, the Apollo 17 landing, Artemis came back again with a vigor. It was actually the fastest moving object that could human rated to ever enter the atmosphere. The heat shield hit nearly 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit, like 2700 Celsius. That's twice the temperature of the space shuttle. And so they just know so much more about doing these kinds of things that we can now.
