I'm of Two Minds About This

i'm of two minds about this. I can make a case that i believe pretty sincerely, that all of it is incredibly stupid and a waste of time. But the original buckleyite movement was a very small thing. It was a bunch of committed intellectuals who took taking institutions of power seriously and took making arguments seriously. And i think the advantage they had is that their arguments were actually persuasive in ways that like hungary just isn't. A lot of the people who believed what you and i believe, in me, weren't on the same page on everything but we're basically broad conservative movement, conservatives in a limited government guise.
