The Killer's Letters to the Killer
Don smarto visited kemper again and then struck up a correspondence with the killer. He shared some of the letters with me. In his letters to me, he does analyze himself. I'm using my own words, but he reflects on what brought him over the brink or to the edge. And one of the most chilling things he ever wrote to me was one sentence that said, if i'd killed her first, the others might have lived. It's almost like every young girl was collateral damage.
