Antibiotics and Non-Inferiority Trials
Non-inferiority trials are unique to medicine, and we're just going to keep seeing them more and more. The FDA has defined an acceptable margin of 10%, which I don't know if that's arbitrary or not. They powered their study to have 80% power, and their non-in feriority margin was 10%.
