Most of these languages that we're picking have grammars available freely on the web. Berkeley has a big archive where a lot of these native languages, if the documentation is out of copyright, they make them available. So well, it just seems like a good way to bring up languages people might not otherwise have run across. I think the other bonus of doing natural languages is we'll come across features that we may not be able to find in conlangs because, you know, natural languages work in mysterious and crazy ways.
