Native peoples have been not just written out of history, but presumed to have limited either cultural, intellectual, or kind of social capacities for much of European and North American intellectual history. These are the kind of quintessential peoples without history, according to Hegel; people's caught in a primitive form of naturalization, according to countless anthropologists.
