Much of your work has explored what we know of the origins of people of african descent in england. What could you tell us about that great question? Because hitherto most people who have speculated on such a population had tended to look at the people of afAfrican descent as blank sheets of paper. That is a way of the observer taking a stance which nullifies their past. Now the records may not provide extensive elaborations of some one's past, but they provide indications, especially in the names.
