Katsuko's Impact on Science

Katsuko was the first woman elected to the science council of japan. She founded her own award, the saro hashi prize, which is awarded to women and the natural sciences. Her findings confirmed the need to end atmospheric nuclear testing. Katsuko died on september 20 ninth aged 87.
