The Upswing in Support for the NHS
The NHS frequently appears in opinion polls as the thing that makes British people most proud to be British. It featured in the 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony. Now, of course, given current funding challenges, waiting lists and so on, the public has also voiced frustration with the way that the NHS is operating. But what I would argue is that that frustration is not tantamount to desire for a different system. So I would say that those founding ideals for health rule have only increased over time.
