The Shame of Being Gay in a Public School
I realized when I was eight and when I was nine. The bullying that goes on top of it is one of the worst periods of my life. That's why I didn't come out until five years after school. Imagine saying you are less than, you are not worthy of what your peers are worthy of because you were choosing to be gay. You cannot be equal to someone in your exact same year because of this difference. It upsets me. But a young kid in high school, it would do irreversible damage for their whole life. Or it does, it should be at a disadvantage because they identify as queer. All it is is enforcing that this is wrong. Fundamentally,
