The Father of Modern Resurrectionism
Charles Finney is known as the father of modern revivalism. He used something called an anxious bench to where he's preaching a lot of hell fire and brimstone. And so if somebody thought that this was happening, he would point him out and call him up front. So they would sit and then everybody is praying for this person to have some sort of crazy experience. All of those movements happened between 1825 and 1879.
