i wonder if we understand the mediaeval period differently in britain andd across the pond in america. i also think it's important, if i may, for modern europeans to look at the ways in which these stories have been manipulated by imperialism. As a colleague of mine says, for these places and an used in particular kinds of ways that we always make use of the past,. Whether we claim it as our past or an other past, in order to justify who we are to day.
