The Story of the IBM Operating System
Microsoft would be responsible for delivering an operating system and support for four programming languages. IBM would pay a licensing fee to Microsoft, giving a portion of each sale to Microsoft as a royalty. The two companies made their partnerships formal by signing a contract on November 6th. By this time, people like Lowe and Sam's had been moved to other projects inside IBM.
