The Impact of Cataloging on the World of Books

The first edition by Frederick Fernable was published, not just once but twice. Fernable was completely animated by a 19th century idea of medieval romance. And that popularity really drove a lot of the early printed editions of medieval English literature. Some of those editions are still the only ones we have for Henry's translation. The book is an incredible case study there's not today still any one place you can go to get all the information about all the manuscripts.
