The White Knight

Jones played mind games by manipulating his followers' connections to the outside world. He portrayed the US as an evil capitalist empire. Jones would repeatedly tell parishioners that African Americans in the United States were being rounded up and slaughtered like pigs. Some believe Jones may have arrived at the name White Knight because he felt it was the quickest way to strike fear directly into the majority black population. A second white night scenario involved Jones sending the Red Brigade into the surrounding jungle, and having them fire their automatic weapons into the campground. It was meant to display the panic and chaos that would arise from their eventual invasion from outside forces.
