The ultimate flex is freedom, location freedom, financial freedom and time freedom. You can make a good living, but you're not going to get there if you are average. Photography that pays is the photographer who can take a portrait of someone with the lighting schematics that fits that personality better than any other lighting schematic for that particular person. That says something about who they are. And if you can practise enough to get there, you will make a really good living.
