A Brief History of Emancipation

The very first emancipations were actually located in the american north. The children born into slavery could then look forward to freedom, but that freedom would come after a long period of time - potentially 18 to 25 years. Then, if we been o fast forwrd in time, and we come to the period of 18 o seven,. This is when the slave trade was abolished. Of course, the british empire playing a central role in that. In that development, we see what i call the sea emancipations. And these were emancipations that really were taking place at sea.
