The Yellowstone Basin and the National Parks
The first national park set the standard, but nothing else like that happened again for 20 years. Part of that was because of lakota resistance and because of growing native resistance in that region until eigh 90. Native dispossession is actually a very strong part of the national park movement that really only recently has been acknowledged.
