The Importance of Standardized Tests in China
Gao's great grandpa was successful in the highest imperial exams. Back then those tests were like everything. You passed those tests you're gonna be rich and famous. That's the only going life. They actually influenced the US to create a standardized test for government workers. A lot of European countries came up with their own test based on the Chinese test.
