The Song Dynasty Painting Styles
During the Tang Dynasty, they use a lot of colors. We don't have much survive till today. And then they use very thick pigment, very colorful. When you come to the Song Dynasty, everything changed. People focusing on imitate the nature. It would be very paradox to think that when people try to imitate nature, they should use bright color because the world has a lot of colours. But in the Song Dynasty,. they use ink, only black and white, to imitate the nature - still, they can capture the essence of seasonal changing.
