When you agree to a wage contract or rent an apartment, this is based on what you think inflation's going to be over the next year. So that's one of the reasons it takes a long time for Fed policy to work. A lot of folks are saying this is not your grandmother, grandfather's inflation. It seems like they've become unanchored now.
