The Art of the Age of Peril and Fear
It's hard to imagine how you'd be motivated to take such a dramatic course of action. But as helen told me, that mind set is easier to comprehend if we look at the dramatic imagery that mediaeval people were faced with. You've got these fanged demons rising up from hells just to ensnare naked people whose souls are trying to clamber towards heaven but they're being pulled back down towards hell. It's so visural. And can you imagine something i don't think that we can really real is that the amount of images that we are faced with every day, like in to day's world.
