Are These Junk Fees Really BS?

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is proposing a rule to slash the credit card fees that we've talked about. In 2017, hotels raked in about $2.7 billion in fees and surcharges. Airlines made $8.6 billion in seat change and baggage fees in 2019. Some of these other ones were a little trickier to get a read on because of the pandemic.
