How Isolation Plays a Role in Isolating Women
Debbie is a great example and an awful example of that. She's the woman in India who is affected by floods on a routine basis. She describes being essentially trapped in her home, not being able to leave. And yet there's no escape from that. So she is trapped with her abuser. That is sadly also what entraps Debbie and so many other women in that part of India: The notion that you must stay. It is your obligation. it is your duty.
