Black Bart's Story

Charles Bowles was born in Norfolk, England around the year 1829. When he was about 20 years old, Charles set out with his cousin David to find his fortune in the gold fields of California. The last letter Mary Bowles ever received from her husband was dated August 25, 1871. In it, he swore revenge against the company that had robbed him of his hard-earned fortune.
