The Concept of Witchcraft

It's impossible to know who the first person accused of being a witch is on being accused of witchcraft? We just don't have the records for that. What we can say is that the concept of witchcraft goes back thousands of years, and it depends where you are in in the different cultures in different periods. The whole point for us as historians is when they get recognized in the sources. In particular, but the classic witch really, we only really see them clearly when when the laws are introdue. When did witch and witchcroft first become a crime? Depends where you are, of course.
