The Fear of Silence in Florida High Schools

Since July last year, several laws have come into force in Florida that restrict what can be taught in classrooms. Led by Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida Republicans say the laws are necessary to shield children from inappropriate content and liberal indoctrination around issues of race and sexual orientation. This week a school in Florida barred its students from watching a Disney film about one of the seminal moments of the Civil Rights era. The film was banned following a single complaint from one parent. Chelsea Bailey visited one Florida high school where teachers say they're being scared into silence.
