The Problem With the Republican Party's Personality Agenda

The Democratic Party is going to stop having contentious primaries and move more to coronations. If Joe Biden uses the melanoma that he had to drop out of this race late in October, that would set up a coronation for someone like Gavin Newsom to go to South Carolina win and wrap up the nomination. Meanwhile, there's a slugfest going on over a team GOP. My hope would just be that the slugfest is about policy and issues. And it's not about personalities, because if this is a race about personalities, that would end up favoring Democrats.
