The queen met every president going back to harry s truman. She was one of the kind of, you know, sort of, it was the secret element of the relationship between the united states and britain. i think that presidents, as a rule, no matter which party they came from or how they defined themselves, were really beguiled by the queen. And it'll be very interesting to see whether, in the era of king charles, that changes it all,. Whether some of that magic is lost, or or, if not changed, charles is a very different person.
