Chelsea's First Premier League Game in the Top Division
Chelsea won their first game back in the Premier League when they played Boge's side at Stanford Bridge on August 15, 1993. The Blues finished a credible fifth in the top flight that season under Bobby Campbell so that opening day victory was actually a good indicator of the season to follow. Nick Harford scored our first ever Premier League era goal for Chelsea with only six minutes remaining but it was short lived as 60 seconds later old and were level by beating goalkeeper Dave Besan from inside his own half.
