Two people from the town went to paris and became arly significant figures. One on the revolutionary side, one a young woman who who was guillotined for being a counter revolutionary. The other is an ex-revolutionary priest who left the church and married a parishioner. So that was a fairly radical thing to do by the standards of the times.
