What Is a Strange Artwork?
A strange artwork to me was not something that was made at the time by someone thinking, I'm going to really get some attention with this one. And it has to be something that visually immediately hooks you. You have to cover a huge amount of time. So we look at prehistoric art and exploring just what it is those Venus figurines, the Venus of Hulfel, and those strange sort of shapely female figures. Because we're talking about art before the time of language, when art is the language.
