Is Psychodynamic Therapy Better for PTSD?
Psychodynamic treatments have never been all that effective with treating trauma or anxiety disorders. The question of whether psychodynamic therapy, for example, is more appropriate for incest, I think is a different conversation. It's just not sustainable to have people in years-long programs versus what are basically usually 12, maybe 15 sessions,. So I think the reasons are both substantive and financial for the shift.
