He takes 10 for 61 against the touring West Indies, and it gets him a test match again at the end of the summer. The first tour they ever go on to India, he's part of that in the winter of 33-34, and he does perfectly reasonably steady throughout the series. He loses his spot by the start of 34 for the ashes due to injury. After the war, in 1946, nine years after his last professional fixture, he's brought back to lead the attack at Wontage Road once again - and does it bloody well. Takes 67 wickets at 24 as a 43-year-old, and they say he then was still the fastest bowler in England
