The Myth of the Alhambra

The Alhambra is built in a time of huge hardship. The Moorish kings are actually quite poor, they're not rolling in it. They're fighting and losing a war against the Christians. It was built in sad times, despite its terrible beauty. Most men bits were put up after Black Death so it's not surprising there is this sad and ill giant quality to the Alhambra in a way.
