The Importance of Collaboration With Younger Directors
"I would hope that anybody out there the first time you're working with them, even if they know way more than you," he says of younger directors. "If someone doesn't know something, you try and guide them along... And maybe you learned something along the way too." He adds: "It's an incredible art of like, a commanding accrue and getting that collaboration into place" It took him a little while to learn that if you court your cinematographer as a director, you actually have to date each other for a little while before you actually do it.
