The Paradox of Police Responsibility in a Busy Borough

Almost everything that the police are called out to do in a busy borough like Lambeth is actually responding to these kind of delicate, complex, caring situations. You can chase around after a teenage robber and think it's, and feel like you're fighting crime, but really you're interacting with a vulnerable young person in that moment. And so this is real disconnect, this real paradox where I found that most police officers still felt like their job was to fight crime,. But really when you thought about it and you thought, who are these criminals? What are these crimes? And really it's very vulnerable people frequently trapped in these damaging cycles.
