The Seven Years War was the first real global conflict of the 18th century. It started with a failed colonial expedition led by George Washington against some increasingly fortified French forces along the Ohio River. France and later Spain kind of confront England in this kind of global kind of slug fest that ultimately erodes France's North American Empire.
