What Does It Mean to Forgive?

Forgiveness never means you pretend bad stuff doesn't happen or that people should not be held accountable for the things they've done. The followers of God are called to forgive as those who have received forgiveness. When somebody hurts you, they create a moral or an ethical debt. A debt has been created in the relationship. And when a debt exists, somebody has to pay for it.
