An 11 year old boy presents to your clinic on referal from his pediatrition for recurrent right ankle sprains. His mother reports that he has started playing sports in middle school over the past three months with socker and basket ball. So the patient presents with a relatively short period of recurrent ankle sprains after starting sports. A working diagnosis of tarsal coalition is arrived upon, and an m ri would be helpful to evaluate for a fibrous or cartilaginous coalition.
