The Importance of Typology in 1 Peter

There are some tight connections between Genesis 6 1 through 4, and the epistle of 2 Peter and Jude. Peter uses typology in 1 Peter 3.14-22 to assume that the great flood was commemorated somehow during baptism. The sons of God were imprisoned under the earth, the underworld, for what they had done. They asked Enoch - a biblical prophet who never died - to intercede for them. That is described in First Enoch 13 1 through 3, and chapter 14 verses 4 and 5.
