For a long while Addie wanted to travel, but she couldn't because the CIA had sort of ruled her out almost because of those family commitments. She joined what was called the pedico panel and it started in 1953. It's really an important time for them because they get to share their experiences as women at the agency. You can't help but root for her as she finally gets this assignment that she's been striving for for so long.
